I was just wondering, in the mean time between now and the picnic this May, who would like to get together for a meet and greet at Blackstones pizza and pub? its in joplin mo and they have great stone oven baked pizza as well as a variety of international and domestic beers. any takers? perhaps for Gogglemas?

OK to be far the crappiness started the week before. see i thought i had sold my old car the tempo. a lady came by said she wanted it i told her 200 bucks since it needed work she said hey cool my husband is a mechanic down the street it wont be a problem. she hagled with me for a bit until i said she could take it down to the garage and pay it off over a two week period and i would keep the titled til it was paid off. Sounded fair to me.... they picked up the car the next day and gave me 25 bucks to start with. that was a tuesday she said she would be back on friday to give me another 75. i havent see the bitch since.....


so next on my list of, "oh fuck my week sucks." is apparently nate lost trakc of our finanaces again... so after finding we were broke he comes to me at 5 am before work and hands me every thing and says hes not fit to handle the bills anymore and now i have to.... great...fantastic... i have no idea whats been paid and what hasnt... *sigh*


so he goes to work that day and the next morning on his day off we keep getting calls from the temp agency he works through. we ar elike what the hell since the job he was currently at had plans to higher him on full time in aobut a week. welp that was a lie... they had
"let him go" apparently due to some one bitching that a temp was going to get such a nifty job....so boom... we have no income none what so ever..... and our house payment is due in three days.... and we have no money... yay... on top of this we had to get our car tagged... welp to get a car tagged one must pay their eprsonal property tax yes? weeeeell the great county of jasper never sent me my property tax bill. aint that grand of them! even better i talked to people all over joplin at the court house the assessors office every thing and no one knew where i was suppose to go to pay it! so i wasted gas driving my happy ass all over joplin until finally some smart ass told me i had to go to carthage! *sigh* its all done btw.... 18 bucks for tax...


on top of this i thought i was going to have to cancel my trip to the Ravenwood festival. as it stands we are still going but i will have no money... i hope water is free at the bar :(


oh and i forgot! nates WoW account got hacked and they stole all of his stuff 2800 gold and lots of lbues and purples as well as stuff from the guild bank(if this means nothing to you dont worry...im a tad ashamed that i know what it means too) he got his stuff back but not his gold :( poor hubby...

Some time back i declared that i would have a birthday party if it killed me this year! and i have found what i wish to do for said birthday (August 7th, though this event more than likely will be on the weekend following my hatching day)So here is my plan and if anyone would like to come along please let me know! i would love to see others at the train station.

I will be taking a ride on the Eureka Springs& North Arkansas Railways which is 12 dollars to ride which runs from 10:30 am-12:00 pm and 2:00 pm-4:00. From there (mind it has a museum,snack cart, and shop to look at whilst we wait)From there i will be having dinner or lunch depending at the Pied Piper Pub ( http://www.piedpiperpub.com/piedpiper-dining.html ) which is just up the street from the train station. Please let me know if anyone would be interested in coming. I would love to spend my birthday with the lovely folks from the forum!

So the recipe book is all but done and the days are turning hot...which means my bloody damned birthday is coming up. See i never have good things happen on my birthday. in 26 years only one good thing has come of my birthday, my husband perposed to me. lol but as he points out and as i have often though one lovely day can not make up for 25 other years of crap. I've been considering holding a birthday party. i've not ever had one. Yeah i know weird hu 26 years old,gonna be 27, and i've not ever had a birthday party.

See,my family wasnt real big on...well any thing. My parents were both abusive in their own special ways and continue to be so. They,along with a few other events and people are why i think...maybe...just maybe this year i deserve a party. Last year was the year from hell. it started out ok,nate and i had a lovely little xmas in our new home together. Money was tight,so it wasn't much... but it was better than nothing. then shortly after we met this couple from nates old job. this couple was to plague, and i do mean plague, our lives until july of last year. by then the husband had moved in with us under the pretense that he was leaving his wife due to abuse, and she was abusive. we finally had to throw him out after he screwed us out of thousands of dollars and made us almost loose our home. after he left,several nights later, under the cover of darkness, he came and vandalized my car. Unfortunetly due to the situation there was no way to "prove" he did it. However his description has been given to the local police.

 I head off to New Orleans with my mom and my sister. My sister had paid for us to go to an event there. We were both so excited to go! Mom,not so much. We originally were going to go just my sister and my self but my mother insisted we couldnt find our way and that she would go.  the entire way there she talked about how filthy new orleans was how dangerouse it was how awful it was going to be. she nearly drove usinto several cars etc...etc... when we got there she swore we were going to stay the night and turn right back around and go home.

Dawn comes, we dont leave... she spends the entire time we are there swearing she is sick and its all my fault. never my sisters just mine(i'm the younger of the two btw) on the way back she gets us lost on purpose,see my mom cant get lost, no seriousely ive seen the women navigate a town shes never even heard of muchless been there! so when we got lost i knew it was intentionally. so here we ar elost in shrevport la. mom wont stop to ask directions and keeps driving us into on coming traffic. so after i ask for directions three times and she wont listen to wha ti tell her she has a screaming raving fit slaps my sister around pulls her hair like a mad women and throws me out of the car. at 8pm in shreeveport la. and no i dont know anyone there.

I knew what she wanted... she wanted me to come crying back and ask for forgivness for being a bad child etc..etc... so i squared my shoulders and walked away. i walked two miles down the road to a Krogers and called my husband collect. Apparently she had freaked 10 minutes after she threw me out and figured she would be in big time trouble if nate new what she had done form me first. so she called hime and told him i had run off. so i told him the truth and within 5 minutes of hanging up he called the pay phone back and told me he had two different people willing to come get me if mom didn't it would be a while but they would come for me. in the mean time my mom apparently, called the police and which point the told her she was just SOL since...well im an adult shes an adult and they can't fix her problems. In the end i walked back to her car after nate told her to bring me back or dont come back at all (implication being he would have people waiting for her....) and i got home.

And then: Some one accussed nate of stealing smokes... nate doesnt smoke nor do i nor do any of his friends. but the person who accussed him,his father was in managment. so what was going to be a quick case of "sorry buddy but no he didnt" became a fiasco! they produced suppossed video evidence of him stealing,yet no one but managment has ever seen in. worse part,nate got fired the day before his birthday. It was all down hill from there that was November 13th...

At this point i am still not speaking to my mother. luckally we had some money saved and were able to make a few house payments... but things didn't get better, we had no thanks giving or xmas this time. no gifts from family no  friends looking to see if we would be ok... not to mention the ice storm... knocked out power here for about 5 days for us and up to a month for others.... so..i think after all that i deserve a birthday party...my first ever. all in all originally i was just going to post this, my birthday wishlist...but i got distracted ranting

So i am still working on this project and it is coming along nicely for anyone interested i will be taking recipe contributions until May 1st 2008. Please have them to me by then or i will have to refuse the entery. I need them by that point so i have time to get them printed before a local Steampunk festival takes place. OK,so my net was down for a few days, but i am still working on this Steampunk Social and Swap Meet. The tea house i was considering holding this event at has closed down. Probably because of her insistance of not alowing the "wrong" crowd in her store. So i am falling back onto anther idea,some locally owned resturant. I want it to be locally and not some chain...if folks are going to come all this way they might as well get to see what the local fair is like.

if you are reading this as an interested party heres what im thinking we could do:

The meeting would be mostly social,getting to know each other and swapping items....maybe interested parties could let people know on a message board(mostly likely the BG http://www.brassgoggles.co.uk/bg-forum/index.php )

what they have to trade and what they might be looking for. All parties would be responsible for their own food and drink. No matter how much i may wish to pay for everyones food...i just flat out can't.

Each year this event would be held in a different midwestern state... Now by midwestern i am keeping this rather tight. we are talking OK,KS,MO,and AR. Personally i would LOVE to hold this is Eureka Springs next year http://www.eurekasprings.org/ awesome town just awesomeness in the flesh!

So im hoping some one will read this and find it nifty.... if ya do let me know.. im not getting much of a respons so far... but it sin the major planning stages still yet. BTW im hoping to do this some time in the summer. more than likely June.

AND for the record, though this is being called steampunk all sorts of folk ar einvited, steampunks deislepunks steamgoths run of the mill punks anyone with an anachranistic streek and well...the time to spare with interesting folk and good food!

Welp, im new to this whole livejournal thing. But i figured i'd give it a try since there seems to be more of a steampunk community on Livejournal than Myspace. My name is MS Boo Dreadful i am a steamgoth(a term i picked up from a friend) from Missouri. im interested in a variety of topics... and i have a variety of interests in general. Ummm...i honestly don't know how active i'll be on here. if i get addicted to one more online community i think my head might just pop like a balloon!
